Earlier this year, the Meridian team welcomed its Spanish distributor, StarsAV, alongside other European distributors and dealers for a hands-on training day at the Meridian HQ in Huntingdon, providing an opportunity to build stronger relationships and showcase the company’s state-of-the-art manufacturing and listening spaces.
Following an introductory presentation from John Buchanan, CEO of Meridian and Katy Bradshaw, Global Marketing Director, the group were guided around the factory by Barry Sheldrick, Director of Sales, and Simon Bowman, Engineering Director at Meridian. This provided exclusive insight into the inner workings of Meridian, and of course, a sneak peak of the manufacturing team working on Meridian’s latest sound solution, Ellipse. The opportunity enabled visitors to understand the attention to detail that the British brand put towards every product - from the bare circuit boards all the way through to the carefully designed Meridian packaging.
The cohort then split into two groups for an afternoon of demo sessions, with the opportunity to listen to the acoustic capabilities of Meridian’s latest product release, Ellipse. Led by Barry Sheldrick and Des Ford, Technical Marketing Manager, the groups alternated between the Listening Room and Mezzanine for sound variation in different environments.
Following a demo of Ellipse, Boyen Rienks of StarsAV commented: “It's just amazing detail, the bass & space is so present, it blows you away.”
The intimate groups reassembled to listen to Research and Applied Technologies Team Leader, Laurence Hobden, as he delved into Meridian’s engineering features, from the 12 DSP technologies to the stereo enhancing Bass & Space technology. This was then followed by a session with Barry and International Sales Manager, Jeremy Brown in the Lounge and Listening Room, to demo Image Elevation and HPA (High Power Array) in Meridian’s in-wall speakers.
The demos did not stop there, as groups were again split for a theatre demo and a DSP9 listening opportunity, enabling the groups to experience the sound fidelity of Meridian’s multi-award-winning loudspeaker.
The interactive day at HQ ended with a final demo of the Meridian automotive systems in a Kia and Range Rover.
However, the entertainment was not over, as guests enjoyed dinner at Old Bridge with Meridian Sales, Marketing and Technical members, as well as John Buchanan, CEO of Meridian.
