Acoustic Engineer
Responsible for supporting electroacoustic and signal processing system design, prototyping and verification activities for both Meridian’s specialist audio products and business-to-business clients. Also, to support the development and deployment of Meridian’s DSP technologies.
Main Duties
- Design of electroacoustic and signal processing systems by means of modelling tools.
- Prototyping of electroacoustic and signal processing systems; whether hardware or software.
- Verification of electroacoustic and signal processing systems via measurement.
- Tuning of both Meridian’s specialist audio products and Meridian’s business-to-business clients’ products.
- Support development and deployment of Meridian’s DSP technologies for both Meridian’s specialist audio products and Meridian’s business-to-business clients.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Good degree (2.1 or better), or equivalent experience, in a related field (acoustics, electronic engineering, physics, mathematics).
Aptitude/Skills Required:
One or more of the following areas:
- Acoustics
- Electroacoustics
- Audio signal processing
- Psychoacoustics
Highly desirable:
- Acoustic simulation - COMSOL Multiphysics highly favoured
- Audio measurement systems
- Transducer design
Desirable:
- MATLAB
- C/C++ programming
- Critical listening
- Knowledge of loudspeaker technology and acoustics
Advantageous:
- Automotive acoustics
- Experience with a wide range of software platforms/languages

Quality Engineer
This role will be responsible for maintaining customer standards and expectations alongside managing Meridian’s Quality Management System (QMS).
Responsibilities
- The Quality Engineer's responsibilities include designing quality standards, inspecting materials, equipment, processes, and products, developing quality control systems, and determining corrective actions.
- You will also work with managers and supervisors to implement quality measures.
Main Duties
- Developing and implementing quality standards
- Developing and implementing quality control systems
- Monitoring and analysing quality performance
- Inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met
- Collaborating with operations managers to develop and implement controls and improvements
- Ensuring that workflows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations
- Investigating and troubleshooting product or production issues
- Developing corrective actions, solutions, and improvements
- Reviewing codes, specifications, and processes
- Lead and promote a customer focused, quality first approach within Meridian
- Perform company internal audits
- Review Quality issues and determine the impact on the business
- Manage and coordinate Quality meetings
- Report on the Quality performance of the business
Skills and Experience Required:
- Degree in quality, industrial, electronic, or mechanical engineering or demonstrable relevant work experience.
- 2+ years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or a similar role.
- Experience coding and using QA software tools and processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Knowledge of test processes for sophisticated electrical equipment
Additional beneficial experience:
- ASQ certification preferred
- Ability to work well with all disciplines particularly production and engineering
- A successful quality engineer should have excellent troubleshooting skills and be able to ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards.

Graduate Automotive Engineer
This role will be responsible for supporting the automotive team with the development of high-end automotive audio systems. This will include support throughout the development process, from design of the systems through to the tuning of them.
Main Duties
- Supporting the design of automotive audio systems.
- Supporting the tuning of automotive audio systems.
- Supporting the research of new automotive technologies.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree to at least 2.1 level, or equivalent practical experience in engineering, acoustics, computer science, physics or mathematics.
- Teamwork – will be working alongside a number of other engineers across the engineering department
- Personable and outgoing personality – will be interacting with marketing, engineering and commercial teams
- Willingness to travel (UK and overseas) is essential – Meridian have a number of automotive partners all over the world

Graduate DSP Engineer
This role will be responsible for supporting our current DSP engineers with the development and deployment of DSP software for both Meridian’s specialist audio products and business-to-business clients.
Main Duties
- Support the development of robust high-quality code, testing and documentation for Meridian’s specialist audio products.
- Support business-to-business work with high-quality code, testing and documentation.
- Support the maintenance of the DSP codebase for Meridian’s existing and future products.
- Support the design, specification and estimation of new or updated product features in close collaboration with other stakeholders (both internal and external)
Skills and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree to at least 2.1 level, or equivalent practical experience in engineering, acoustics, computer science, physics or mathematics.
- DSP filter and algorithm design
- C/C++ programming
- Prototyping and development of algorithms in MATLAB
- Teamwork
- Creative and innovative problem solving
