Technical Support & Training Consultant

The main purpose of the role:

To provide technical support and product training to the Company’s dealers and distributors worldwide, for Meridian Audio products and for 3rd party distributed brands. Specifying, configuring, calibrating, commissioning and troubleshooting networked and stand-alone audio & video systems for trade customers. Administering and coordinating trade customer warranty provision and after-sales service processes & requirements, both internally and with 3rd party providers.

Main Duties:

  • Providing technical knowledge and initial product training to dealers, distributors and colleagues to support sales success and growth.
  • Consulting with trade customers and supporting colleagues to answer technical product queries and resolve system issues, primarily via remote support and on-site in the field as required.
  • Providing pre-sales technical and configuration information, troubleshooting support and final system commissioning across all products & brands.
  • Maintaining and updating the various demonstration systems at Meridian HQ.
  • Supporting in-field product demonstrations to trade and end-user customers where required.
  • Travelling with sales staff to visit and work with trade customers where required.
  • Calibrating and commissioning audio & video system installations in the field where required.
  • Administering and coordinating all warranty provision and after-sales service processes for trade customers, including RMAs, ST’s, spare parts requirements and product replacements.
  • Coordinating and reporting any quality issues and contributing to the Company's Quality processes as the representative for Specialist Product Sales. 

Qualifications Required:

  • A relevant technical educational or recognized technical training qualification 
  • Previous relevant industry work experience and related product knowledge, e.g. in audio/video, networking or security products, system engineering, training and/or installation

Experience:

  • Practical field-based experience in installing and integrating AV systems or networked products is desirable.
  • Similar technical support and/or training role within a fast-paced, trade-focused commercial business.
  • Understanding network audio (Dante/AES67) and experience of deploying AV-over-IP would be beneficial.

Skills:

  • Methodical, practical and structured troubleshooting approach to problem-solving
  • An ability to communicate, share and deliver technical information effectively to empower customers and colleagues to grow sales, install successfully and satisfy customers
  • A calm demeanour and first-class interpersonal skills
  • A confident public speaker
  • A demonstrable interest in and understanding of technology and audio/video products and networks
