Meridian Audio supported Destination Defender's return to California, bringing luxury British audio to Defender's three-day adventure and music festival in Temecula.

Held from 14-16 November, Destination Defender brought together off-road driving, live music and community-led activities. Meridian’s involvement focussed on demonstrating how its audio systems perform in real-world contexts, from shared social settings to the demanding acoustic conditions of off-road driving.

Engineered for Real Experiences

Meridian representatives delivered dedicated demonstrations of the Ellipse streaming speaker across the event. One Ellipse was used for focused listening sessions, allowing guests to experience Meridian sound at close range. A second Ellipse supported a wellness space, providing a calm, unobtrusive sound backdrop during quieter moments between activities.

The Meridian Sound Lounge offered a complementary experience. Powered by four DSP9 loudspeakers, the space demonstrated how a high-performance system can deliver clarity, control and scale within a listening environment. Guests returned throughout the weekend between driving sessions and live performances to experience the system in context. The Camp Defender Lounge offered a different experience. Four DSP9 speakers, finished in Batumi Gold and White, powered an outdoor gathering space. Staff demonstrated how the system performs outside. Guests returned here between driving sessions and live music to listen in an open setting.

Audio in Action

The Defender OCTA was available for close inspection throughout the event. Visitors explored the cabin and listened to the integrated Meridian audio system.

On the test track, drivers experienced Meridian systems during real off-road runs. Steep climbs, uneven ground and engine noise created demanding listening conditions.

Jeremy Brown, International Sales Manager, spoke with attendees across the weekend. He answered questions and explained the systems on display.

Jeremy said: “This event showed the partnership in action. Defender creates the adventure, we provide the soundtrack. From relaxed listening between activities to audio systems handling off-road challenges, it's about performance in every environment."

Beyond Audio

Saturday night closed with a headline performance from KALEO. The Icelandic band is known for blues-led rock and wide dynamic range.

The Defender Service Awards ceremony recognised six charitable organisations from the US and Canada. Each received a Defender 130 vehicle and $30,000 to support their work. A further thirty finalists were awarded $5,000 each.

Away from the stage, guests took part in driving challenges, wellness sessions and guided activities. The programme balanced high-energy driving with quieter moments across the site.

Meridian’s involvement focused on use, not display. The lounges, demonstrations and in-vehicle listening showed how the systems perform in different conditions.
